Swimming At The Beach
On Thursday some people that brought their notice back went to the beach for some swimming lessons and some free time. When we got there we had to get in groups of 4, in my group I had Archie, Ondreous, Pharell and myself. The first thing we did was freestyle, we had to run into the water and then swim around Ayanda's Mum and do freestyle across to Nevaeh's Mum and then run back to the beach. We did freestyle 3 times and then we did backstroke, I when really crooked one time and I banged into Ondreous. After that we did breaststroke, I was pretty bad and it was hard because of the waves. When we had finished our lessons we were allowed to have free time. It was so fun

Waitangi Trip Yr 6
On Wednesday the year 6 went to  Waitangi for the whole day. We got to go on a bus to Waitangi. When we got there we had to wait outside for bit till the people that were taking us around for the day. When we got in side Christina and Kerry told us go to do a activity, we had to get in groups of two and sort fitty cards from 1 to 50. My buddie was Archie, my groups came 3rd. The next thing we did was get into groups of what we wanted to right a real story or a true story. The things we got to choose from was the four hoe. I choose kaha, but what I didn’t know is that we had to make a story on scratch. My story was about a panther that is scared to climb trees. I didn’t get to finish it. After that we had some food and went out side, about ten minutes later we put our food away went to the toilet and then lind up to go in the new Museum. I saw lots of things I didn’t know. It was so cool. After that we did some more scratch, we made a 3D title on a really cool site it was called 3d paint. After we did that we put it on our scratch story and then we had to hop off and get back on the bus and go back to school. It was so fun!

Turbo Touch

last Friday we played a new game called turbo touch. Whaea Shanna taught us how to play. We had to get into groups of 3-5. In my group I had Pharell, Ondreous, Tahuri and Archie. We had to practice throwing and catching the ball to each other. The rules were, tap the ball on your foot to start and restart after a touch has been made. Pass forwards, backwards, sideways, flick it on anything goes except kick, 2 touches then hand over. Drop ball handover. On defence give 2 meters or 2 seconds or give away a penalty. To score a touchdown two passes must have been made to open the activity zone. No entering the active zone until it’s open or your offside defence or attack.  We got to choose who we wanted to vs. We first played Roberts group , we won. Then we played Anyahs group I think it was a tie. I thought I was pretty good at catching apart from it hitting my face. Have you ever played?

Last week we did a challenge, we had to get into groups of four.  It was called the newspaper challenge. The teachers picked our groups. In my group there was Fern, Pharell, Jade R and myself. We had to use 2 pieces of newspaper, scissors and 30 cm of tape. We had to make a tower using the things we got given, the tallest one would win. We made a really small standing tower for the first round… then it broke. For the second round we made a huge one, it fail miserably, it made me a little frustrated. I thought it was hard but fun, it was kind of hard to work with my group, but in the end we worked together and it failed. Have you ever done the Newspaper challenge?
